OK....the fruit is on!!!

OK....MY FRUIT IS HERE. It seems like it all comes on at once and you can't possibly eat it all so it has to be canned. I have spent the last few days canning salsa and peaches. Canning is very monotonous so I had a lot of thinking time. First, I wanted to curse who ever invented the normal mouthed jars. You know the ones you hate with a passion because your hands don't fit inside of them to place your fruit. Secondly, I wanted to curse myself for buying the stupid jars in the first place. Is there a place for non-wide mouthed jars??? I DON'T THINK SO. The best part of it all is after your kitchen is clean and floors are no longer sticky to walk into your pantry and see all your work sitting on the shelves looking so pretty. (I know, some people have no idea what I am talking about.)

Two nights ago, at 4 am, I had a strange feeling I was being watched. As I opened my eyes I immediately noticed why I had this strange sensation. Jack was perched on my bed starring at me. My opened eyes gave him the invitation he was waiting for and quickly whispered that he was hungry. I kind of miss being woke up in the middle of the night but still told him to go back to bed and we would eat in the morning. Still, he insisted he was hungry so I put some chocolate milk in a sippy cup and quickly put three nuggets in the microwave and sent him back to bed with his goodies. In the morning I noticed all chicken nuggets still on the plate except for a small corner he had bit off. I thought to myself he must not have been very hungry. When I examined him closer in the morning I found the corner of the chicken nugget still in his mouth which had somewhat of a foam like appearance to it. I had him spit it out ASAP. I just wanted to remember how cute I thought it was to find him perched over me until I opened my eyes. I may not have to many more of these occasions.

Jack goes to preschool

My BABY went to preschool today. He loved every minute of it. He told me he had dinner at preschool which consisted of sour apples. He is a cute little guy but as BOB would say, "Jack needs to learn to control his CHI". Well, the pics are of my whole clan. And of Jacks new shoes. He looks so cute in them I wanted to remember them. What did I do with the whole 2 1/2 hours he was gone??? I WORKED. (I personal train out of my basement.)

Who doesn't like fall???

I love September through Jan 1st. Who doesn't?? Football, cool weather, soup, by boys' birthday, holidays, the fall harvest. I can't wait for these beauties. Asian pears (nashi's), pears, and peaches. This is what is growing in our back yard. I took a tour of our trees just this afternoon and they are still not ready yet...but...any day now.

Oh ya....the lawn.

Yes....we came back from our St. George trip a few hours early on purpose. Our lawn was calling us home. Bob and I both took a lawn mower and got the job done. Bob also trimmed and edged. Devon headed over to the neighbors to fulfill his obligation as their weekly mower boy so we all had a job. I love to look at our lawn when it is freshly mowed. So now I will post a pic so I can remember what our lawn looks like after it is covered with snow and I am in need of sunnier days.

Went to St. George over the weekend to watch Devon play football. His sophmore team did well. He would still like to have more playing time. And....being his mother can I just say to his coaches, "What? He is the best tackler out there. What the heck?"

OK, now that I've said that we stayed at the Las Palmas Condos and had a great time with the kids. Friday was..oh about 103 degrees. First thing we did was jump in the pool where I discovered anything outside of the water was still hot. Like my face. These pictures are of the kids in the pool pretending like they are Michael Phelps and having fun. Also, of us hiking in Snow Canyon on Sunday. It was so Beautiful the pictures really don't give it justice. The oldest girl in the pics is my niece Morgan. She was fun to have along. I love the look my little Jack has on his face in the middle picture.

I've also discovered something else about myself. I get very nervous watching my kids hike anything steep. I almost couldn't let go of my little Jack and watching Alec was almost unbearable. If anyone was going to fall down the mountain it would have been him. Anyway, we all came away unscathed.
